Why I do this
I'm Jantosh Bansal — an electronics engineer by training and a founder by instinct. Engineering taught me to take a complicated system apart, understand how each piece works, and explain it simply. Building companies taught me that the same discipline applies to money: the people who do well aren't the ones with secret information, they're the ones who understood their options before they had to decide.
The more conversations I had with friends, colleagues, and fellow business owners, the more I heard the same questions about retirement, long-term care, and passing something on — and saw how rarely anyone had been given clear, honest education. So I did what I've always done as an engineer: I dug into the details, learned the system, earned my Texas insurance licenses, and founded Northstar Financial Services to help people understand these concepts before life forces them to learn the hard way.
Today I work with individuals, families, and organizations on retirement, long-term care, and legacy transfer — with personalized strategies, plain-English explanations, and no pressure.
That's what Northstar is: a place where the education is open to everyone, the explanations are plain, and nobody is rushed toward anything. Think of it as a formula anyone can learn — a few simple elements, combined in the right order, that add up over time.

Plain talk about my role
Titles get fuzzy in this industry. Here's exactly what mine means — and what it doesn't.
What I am
- A licensed life and health insurance professional (Texas)
- A financial educator — I teach the concepts schools never did
- An independent associate of Hegemon Group International (HGI)
What I am not
- Not a financial advisor or registered investment adviser
- Not an attorney
- Not a CPA or tax professional
— and I'll tell you when a question belongs with one.
How Northstar fits into the bigger picture
Northstar is my own independent business, operated as Northstar Financial Services — the education, the writing, and the conversations all happen here. Northstar Financial Services is an independent associate of Hegemon Group International (HGI), a marketing organization representing multiple licensed insurance carriers.
HGI is not an insurance company and has no products of its own. Any product a family chooses is issued by a well-known, licensed American insurance carrier and is subject to that carrier's underwriting and approval.
Because independent associates aren't tied to a single carrier, families can compare options from multiple established American insurers — and there's no obligation to choose any of them.
Three promises you can hold us to
Education before any recommendation
You'll understand the concept first — what it is, what it costs, and what the trade-offs are. A recommendation only ever comes after that, and only if you ask for one.
Plain English, always
If an explanation needs jargon to sound right, it isn't a good explanation yet. Every idea here gets translated into words an eighth grader could follow.
We'll refer you out when it's not our lane
Legal questions belong with attorneys. Tax questions belong with tax professionals. When your question lives outside an insurance license, we say so — and point you to the right pro.
Have a money question you've been sitting on?
Ask it. The answer comes in plain English, with no pitch attached — and it's yours to keep either way.
